I'm a real zoologist now

I was fortunate enough to get a place in a work experience program in Trinity college , the zoology department. It was so much fun. There was a group of 20 and we all got really close. We did lots of different activities over the week. One of the days we examined skeletons to see what the animal might have eaten , how they might have moved ad how fast they might have moved. Another day we worked in the lab learning about forensic entomology. My favourite practical was disecting the chicken (we named her Deirde) It was so much fun and I was so upset when it was all over.

Here's some stuff from the museum

you're fired

Mini company is over. We had our presentation day in February. All the stands were decorated beautifully. The scariest part of the day was presenting our mini company to the judges. Our product was retractable earphones that won't tangle in your pocket. It was nerve wrecking. I felt like I was on the apprentice. We didn't get through but we still had a great day.

Sci-fest

We had our presentation day for scifest in the school. We all had a stand explaining our projects. We also spoke to the judges and they decided who got through to the next round. Our project was on mummification. We used hot dogs to see which household substance is best for the mummification process. Our project got through to the next round and I'm looking for to the next stage.

Back with a bang

We were only back 3 days from Christmas and already another trip. This time we went to the young scientist exhibition in the RDS. We got to see the projects and get some free stuff. The highlight of my day had to be getting a free tree.

Bowling was so much fun even though I was terrible. When the game of bowling was finished we went to white water in Newbridge for lunch and some last minute christmas shopping. Then it was time to go home. The bus ride home was the best fun I've had in ages thanks to Jen. A good way to end the term. Hope everyone has a good Christmas :)
